Mission:
Our Mission is to prepare our children and youth for a lifetime of
spiritual and ethical growth by teaching them the Unitarian
Universalist principles, exposing them to other faiths and
encouraging in them a questioning attitude.
In the words of William Ellery Channing:
The great end in religious instruction, whether in the Sunday
School or family, is, not to stamp our minds irresistibly
on the young, but to stir up their own; not to make them see with
our eyes, but to look inquiringly and steadily with their own; not
to give them a definite amount of knowledge, but to inspire a
fervent love of truth; not to form an outward regularity, but to
quicken and strengthen the power of thought; not to bind them by
ineradicable prejudices to our particular sect or peculiar notions,
but to prepare them for impartial, conscientious judging of
whatever subjects may, in the course of Providence, be offered to
their decision; not to impose religion upon them in the form of
arbitrary rules which rest on no foundation but our own word and
will, but to awaken the consciousness, the moral discernment, so
that they may discern and approve for themselves what is
everlastingly right and good.

Universalist Pocket Guide, edited by Harry B. Scholefield (Boston:

Classes:
Religious Education classes for children in K through 8th grade
follow a traditional school year schedule. Child-care is provided
year round for children ages 1 – 5.
We began this year with a short UU Identity Curriculum. In November
will begin our second phase of curricula:

UUA Curriculum Map.)
Financial Obligations:
We do not charge a fee for participation in our program. Our goal is
to have a cooperative program and there are a variety of ways to
contribute through volunteer work. Financial contributions to the
congregational General Fund support the RE program along with many
other essential programs.
