This Day in UU History…
Happy birthday, John Quincy Adams! July 11, 1767, Adams was born in Braintree (now Quincy), Massachusetts, the son of U.S. president John Adams. After graduating from Harvard College, he became a lawyer and served in a variety of governmental posts, particularly foreign service. He was elected president in 1824 and later served in the U.S. House of Representatives. Born into the Unitarian church of Braintree, he was a founding member of the Unitarian Church of All Souls in Washington D.C., and is buried with his wife and parents in at the church in Quincy. ~ This Day in Unitarian Universalist History
