In February, the theme is the Practice of Inclusion

Wholeness Within: Embracing Our Shadow

Sunday morning at 10am

with  Rev. Nica Eaton

Inclusion begins within. This service invites us to explore what it means to embrace the shadowed parts of ourselves—the fears, flaws, and complexities we often hide. Through love and self-compassion, we’ll discover how honoring our whole selves deepens our capacity to accept and include others, creating a more authentic and connected community.

Sallie Holley - Wikipedia

This day in UU history…

The abolitionist Sallie Holley was born on February 17, 1818, in Canandaigua, NY. She attended Oberlin College and found herself defending her religious views as the only Unitarian there. At Oberlin she met Caroline Putnam, who became her lifelong friend and partner. She worked for the American Anti-Slavery Society and fought for voting rights for freed slaves after the Emancipation Proclamation. With Putnam, she worked to teach black students in Lottsburgh, VA, and her school became known as the Holley School. Holley and Putnam built a new school and hired two black women as assistant teachers. Sallie Holley died on January 12, 1893. The school still stands today but is no longer in use. ~ This Day in Unitarian Universalist History
