From the first breath until the last, our lives are framed by beginnings and endings. Most of us do better with the beginnings than the endings. Yet ancient wisdom teaches us that there is a time to gain and a time to lose. We confront losses of many kinds in the course of a life. Accepting the impermanence of all things and learning to say goodbye to everything, one sweet piece at a time, puts me in the here and now, which can be a surprisingly happy place to be.
This is a welcoming space for people of all ages. Children and youth have the option of staying for the entirety of the service or joining the Sunday WE program upstairs partway through.

Blessing of the Backpacks – August 16 at 10am
Bring your backpacks, bookbags, purses, laptop cases, or any other bag you use to help get through the day. During our Time for All Ages, we will hold this sweet tradition, placing love, hope, and direction in one another’s bags as we start yet another year.
Plans are underway for the new year! Amazing programs for children and youth are coming together. Rooms are shifting and adapting to accommodate our growing WE program, as well as create shareable spaces.
On Sunday, August 9, we could use some helping hands after the service! Larger furniture, like couches and tables, stacks of chairs, shelves, and some art need to be shifted around some of the rooms upstairs. Any assistance would be welcome! Email Sam at dre@chaliceuu.org with questions or to let her know you are available.
