Becoming Our Whole Selves

Sunday morning at 10am

with Jill Schlaus

In Hinduism, Shakti is the Divine Feminine, the primordial cosmic energy that animates the universe, while Shiva is the Divine Masculine, pure consciousness. The Divine is a perfect balance of both. We will explore what it means to honor, celebrate and cultivate both within ourselves in our journey toward becoming our whole selves.

Blessing of the Backpacks – August 16 at 10am

Bring your backpacks, bookbags, purses, laptop cases, or any other bag you use to help get through the day. During our Time for All Ages, we will hold this sweet tradition, placing love, hope, and direction in one another’s bags as we start yet another year.

Exciting Things - All Over the Map

Plans are underway for the new year! Amazing programs for children and youth are coming together. Rooms are shifting and adapting to accommodate our growing WE program, as well as create shareable spaces.

On Sunday, August 9, we could use some helping hands after the service! Larger furniture, like couches and tables, stacks of chairs, shelves, and some art need to be shifted around some of the rooms upstairs. Any assistance would be welcome! Email Sam at dre@chaliceuu.org with questions or to let her know you are available.

Charles Bulfinch - Wikipedia

This Day in Unitarian Universalist History…

August 8, 1763 – The celebrated architect Charles Bulfinch was born in Boston. He was particularly famous for the churches he designed in Boston, Taunton, Lancaster, and Pittsfield, Massachusetts. His most important work was the State House in Boston. Bulfinch also designed the State House in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Boston Theatre. On a larger scale, he served on a committee that regularized the streets around Boston Common. Bulfinch also designed houses, one of which had an oval room adjoining its garden and became the design for the Oval Office in the White House. Bulfinch was a founding member of All Souls Church (Unitarian) in Washington, D.C., and designed its first building. He died in Boston on April 4, 1844. ~ This Day in Unitarian Universalist History
