Talking to a Brick Wall

Sunday morning at 10am

with Bethany Simonsen and Tim Snowber

Sometimes it feels like there’s no way to reach people who disagree with us on important topics like immigration, LGBTQIA rights, or how to fix our broken healthcare system. It can feel pointless, like you’re talking to a brick wall. Bethany Simonsen will tell us about her journey from being a devout Mormon to becoming a UU, and what experiences helped knock down the walls that kept her from hearing what the other side was saying. There are things we can do to create meaningful dialogue and move past the conflict inherent in Us vs Them.

This is a welcoming space for people of all ages.
Children and youth have the option of staying for the entirety of the service or joining the Sunday WE program upstairs partway through.

February 1–

Our UU Values

The Game of Faith – Love is at the center of all we do. What does that mean? What do all our values mean? Let’s play a new card game to find out, and do some odd things too because life needs love and laughter. (Have you ever given a T-Rex a high-five? You just might on Sunday!)

A huge thank you to Chalice member, Susan Seats, for sharing her magical talents with us upstairs in WE on January 25! We were dazzled, delighted, and learned a some tricks ourselves. We hope to welcome her back in the very near future.
