Chalice Family Update

The Thread

Sunday morning at 10am

with Rev. Michael Eselun

Popular guest speaker and UCLA oncology chaplain, Michael Eselun will reflect and explore the idea of a single thread that may run through our entire lives – what it takes to find it, what is our relationship to it, and how it just might help us make sense of the whole journey thus far.

March 15–

Kindness Creators

Courage to be Kind – Both WE Grow and WE Wonder will dive into the courage it takes to be kind, even when its hard. We’ll use our creativity to inspire others around Chalice to spread kindness around and beyond our community.

After the service….

One of the best parts of Chalice is the time we spend together after the service—lingering, laughing, and connecting. On March 15, we’re making that time a little sweeter with Diggin’ Donuts & Coffee.

Please help make this time together sweet by bringing donuts to share.

Sign up here if you can bring donuts:

A quick sign-up helps us plan so there’s enough for everyone.

Thank you for helping create the warmth and hospitality that make this community feel like home.

Gentle Reminder - West Prairie South Elementary

We are blessed to have so many members, friends, and visitors join us every Sunday! Many people in busy rooms can lead to great joy… and smalls messes. It would be greatly appreciated if everyone would extend a hand to help keep our communal spaces clean. We ask that you also remind your children that they put away any toys and games they are using in the Lounge and Room 4 before leaving. Many thanks to you and your family!

Ellis, Sallie - Dictionary of Unitarian & Universalist Biography

This Day in Unitarian Universalist History…

Sallie Ellis was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 13, 1835, in a Unitarian family. Her father was one of the founders of the First Congregational Church (Unitarian) there. Sallie was an active Unitarian all her life. When she became [disabled] she devoted more time to the church, serving as chair of the book and tract table. She founded a circulating library at church and distributed more than 20,000 tracts, sold books, and took subscriptions to the Christian Register. The work became known as “Miss Ellis’s Mission” and ministers contributed to her sermon distribution. Ellis’s work became known through the country and the Western Unitarian Conference honored her. Other churches copied her work and the UU Church of the Larger Fellowship, which serves it’s members through the internet and mailings, was structured partly on her ideas. Sallie Ellis died on December 27, 1885. ~ This Day in Unitarian Universalist History
