Chalice Family Update
May 16, 2024
In the month of May, the Gift of Our Faith is Pluralism
Anchoring Ourselves in Times of Change
Sunday morning at 10am
With Rev. Nica Eaton
As Unitarian Universalists, we are fortunate to be able to draw from a wide range of sources to guide us on how best to deal with life’s challenges. What does our pluralist approach teach us about anchoring ourselves in times of change and challenge? Join us to explore wisdom about resilience from various traditions that can help us steady during tumultuous times.

Families welcome! The Joy Corner is open!
Children will be led by the Lamp of Love to their RE spaces partway through the service.
May 19–
Pancake Breakfast – Children will head to the kitchen to cook up delicious pancakes to be sold and served after the service. There is a task for everyone! Please join us as this will be our final Pancake Breakfast for quite some time. Proceeds will be divided between the RE Scholarship Fund and Sunday’s special collection–Conejo Unity and Camarillo Pride.
Each week we will offer book suggestions for all ages, books that celebrate diverse identities, resist stereotypes, and uplift social justice. Whether you choose to purchase the books, borrow them from a friend, or check them out from your local library, we hope you enjoy these stories featuring characters from a wide range of communities.

Coming soon….
Chalice is planning some fun summer events for our families. We’ll kick things off June 23 with a Chalice family picnic! Details for the picnic and a list of events will be released soon. Hiking, beach day, ice cream social… the list keeps growing! Let’s stay connected and create memories with our Chalice friends.

Mark you calendar – June 2 is our RE appreciation service
Each year we take time out to recognize our many Religious Exploration volunteers–those who work the front lines, behind the scenes, and everywhere in between. Our children are a big part of this time of gratitude as they will be helping to hand out tokens of gratitude to the adults who give of their time, talents, and big hearts. We will also be hearing from teens and adults who grew up in the congregation sharing their memories as well as hopes for future Chalice children and teens.
Thank you for trusting us with your children! They bring a bright and necessary light to our faith community.
A wonderful time for families and RE volunteers to laugh, play, and make memories!
