Sunday, June 15, 10am – Let Them Soar

An All Ages Service

We are a community who love to lift up our youngest UUs and encourage them to find their own path, wherever that may go. In this most precious time together, we will offer a child dedication for our youngest ones, a bridging celebration for our high school seniors, and show appreciation for our volunteers who have cheered on these amazing young people over the past year. Get ready to watch our children and youth spread their wings and soar!

Julia Ward Howe | National Women's History Museum

Happy birthday, Julia!

On May 27, 1819, Julia Ward Howe was born in New York City. In 1843 she married Samuel Gridley Howe and moved to Boston. A poet and lecturer and the first president of the New England Woman Suffrage Association, Howe became famous for writing the poem “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” which was set to the tune for “John Brown’s Body” and became the theme song for the Union Army during the Civil War. The Howes were members of Church of the Disciples (Unitarian) in Boston and often preached there. Julia Ward Howe died October 17, 1910. ~ This Day in Unitarian Universalist History
