June 22–

There will be no programming for children and youth this Sunday.

We will see you again upstairs June 29.

We may not have had a Time for All Ages…

Instead we offered a dedication to seven children and youth…

Honored twelve RE volunteers…

Celebrated two bridging seniors.

It was a beautiful and vibrant morning! It is such a joy to be in community with you all.

Due to a low number of RSVPs, the Summer Solstice Celebration and Picnic has been canceled.

Watch this space for more summer events.

This day in Unitarian Universalist history…

“June 19, 1985 – The Principles and Purposes of the Unitarian Universalist Association, the major unifying statement of the denomination today, was adopted at General Assembly in Atlanta, Georgia. This statement grew of of an earlier one adopted in 1961, but affirmed women, other religious traditions, and the environment.”

During the 2024 General Assembly, held virtually, the Principles and Purposes evolved into our Shared Values–Justice, Pluralism, Interdependence, Generosity, Love, Equity, and Transformation. This process took place over several years and with much discernment from many UUs. This was done in an effort to widen our circle and be more inclusive of marginalized communities. The newer language lifts up that all we do and all we are is centered in Love.

Changing Attitudes about Change

In case you missed it…

Over the summer we will begin transitioning our Religious Exploration program to Wisdom Exploration. These changes are in an effort to grow and adapt to our evolving times and open our doors even wider for people who might hesitate due to some outdated language. Very soon, you will begin to see these changes in the Family Update, News & Notes, the Chalice website, and throughout our building. Please know, we will continue to offer the same content fueled by our Unitarian Universalist values and the incredible community we are a part of.

Our mission: Wisdom Exploration empowers and supports people of all ages to create a world of justice and compassion.
