Did you enjoy Sunday’s Time for All Ages?

Rev. Nica shared her story, “The Minister’s Backpack.”

She keeps many tools in her backpack, tools that help her be a wonderful minster for Chalice. Are you interested in learning about her many tools, or what a minister does when they’re not giving a Sunday talk? Ask Rev. Nica about her work next time you see her. You might be surprised by what you learn.

Register by Wednesday, July 16, at noon!

Augusta Jane Chapin - Wikipedia

This Day in Unitarian Universalist History…

July 16, 1836 – August Jane Chapin was born in Lakesville, Livingston County, New York. She was the first woman to receive an honorary D.D. degree (Lombard University, 1893) and the second woman to be ordained a Universalist minister. She was ordained in Lansing Michigan, on December 3, 1863. Chapin served churches in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, California, Nebraska, Massachusetts, New York, Iowa, and Illinois. She lectured at Lombard University and chaired the World’s Parliament of Religions for the Chicago World Exposition in 1893. Chapin was also active in the quests for women’s suffrage and temperance and worked to reform the Universalists’ disjointed denominational process, proposing that they form a more uniform system of fellowship and polity, including a covenant for ministerial ethics. She died on June 30, 1905. ~ This Day in Unitarian Universalist History
