Speaker: AJ Blackwood
AJ holds a Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology and a Bachelor of Art in Philosophy with a specialization in Comparative Religions from the University of California, Irvine.
AJ is currently seeking fellowship as Unitarian Universalist minister and is a Candidate for the Ministry. Beginning in the fall he will be serving as intern minister of the UU Church of the Verdugo Hills and Neighborhood UU Church.
He believes that maintaining a positive personal perception is the motivating force behind Creating Life with Excellence. This is all rooted in living a well balanced life that encourages having a strong spirituality, thirst for knowledge, maintaining one’s physical health, and actualizing a desire to serve.
He is committed to justice for all people and strives to work for human and civil rights through community organizing, interfaith dialogue, and youth education. Currently, he serves as the Chairperson for the Progressive Interfaith Alliance (PIA).
AJ is continuing to serve as a guest speaker/lecturer for congregations and organization across Southern California as well as officiating at marriage ceremonies and assisting families through the process of planning funerals and memorials.
