Listening to the Soul

Sunday morning at 10am

with Ayanna Gaines

Ayanna Gaines will explore what it means to listen to the soul, touching on topics such as the meaning of the soul and whether living beings have souls.

Children will be led by the Lamp of Love to their RE spaces partway through the service.


October 13–

Listen to Nature – We’ll hear the story of the Cricket an the Coin, and understand what it means to listen to nature, even in the middle of a city.

and….

This class will approximately one hour.


Each week we will offer book suggestions for all ages, books that celebrate diverse identities, resist stereotypes, and uplift social justice. Whether you choose to purchase the books, borrow them from a friend, or check them out from your local library, we hope you enjoy these stories featuring characters from a wide range of communities.

Multigenerational Households Are On The Rise, According To New Data - Inman

Ancestors Service – Sunday, October 27, 10am

In this all-ages service, we will honor our deceased loved ones, listening deeply to the messages they have passed on to us. Please bring any photos your family wishes to place on the altar.


Two upcoming camps are open for registration!

Thanksgiving Camp – 11/28-12/1      Come to camp and experience a hassle-free Thanksgiving that will be the best you’ve ever had. This is a special weekend for families, singles, couples and young adults. It is truly an intergenerational event!

Senior High Winter Camp – 12/28-1/1      There’s a mystery hidden deep in the pines and we need your help! Come solve puzzles and find clues while bonding with your fellow detectives in a week of adventure. Can you crack the case before the clock strikes midnight? (grades 9-12)

Wear Purple for Spirit Day!

Spirit Day is aimed at raising awareness and showing support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) youth who experience bullying and harassment. Its primary focus is on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for these individuals, by encouraging participants to wear purple as a symbol of solidarity. Spirit Day also serves to promote education around the problems associated with bullying, and encourages society to find solutions to reduce this harmful behavior. – wincalendar.com

How to participate:

1. go purple – Wear purple on Thursday, October 17th to show your support for LGBTQ youth and take a stand against bullying. Encourage friends, family, coworkers, classmates, and teachers to do the same!

2. take the pledge – Take the Spirit Day Pledge, explore our Spirit Day resource kit and share your story.

3. support GLAAD – Become a GLAAD member and join in the fight to end bullying and hate in all it forms. From the latest GLAAD Research to ways you can get involved in your own community, be part of the only movement focused on rewriting the script for LGBTQ acceptance.
