Chalice Family Update

March 13, 2025

In March, the theme is the Practice of Trust

Growing Trust

Sunday morning at 10am

with Rev. Nica Eaton

In a world that teaches us to guard our hearts, what happens when we choose trust instead? By practicing Lectio Divina with Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer’s poem Growing Trust, we will explore the courage to release our armor and say yes to life. Together, we’ll reflect on how we trust, inviting us to unfold like a sunflower turning toward the sun.

A special message for the children of Chalice

Sunday, March 9, children and RE volunteers built over 60 care kits for unhoused people in our community. Here is a message from one of our Chalice members on her experience giving out some care kits:

Please share with the kids that I had two care kit packages.  As I was leaving a shopping area yesterday, I saw a very poor immigrant couple standing with a sign asking for help.  I rolled down the window and offered them one.  They were overjoyed.  Then I asked if they wanted the second one, and they eagerly nodded yes.  As I drove away, the woman give the kit a kiss.

I think this will make the kids happy.

Love,
Pamela L.

Remember, what you do matters in this world. You are amazing people putting love into action.

Each week we will offer book suggestions for all ages, books that celebrate diverse identities, resist stereotypes, and uplift social justice. Whether you choose to purchase the books, borrow them from a friend, or check them out from your local library, we hope you enjoy these stories featuring characters from a wide range of communities.
