Ben will share his journey from receiving two life sentences without the possibility of parole, his eventual exoneration and how he found meaning through writing. He now provides opportunities to the incarcerated to find their voices through the Ben Free Project.
Michael is a professional storyteller of over 30 years and specializes in stories of the African Diaspora. Since 2014, he has been working in California prisons as part of the Arts in Corrections program teaching inmates how to find, develop and tell their stories.
