Soraya Deen – Being Muslim in America

The Challenges and the Celebrations
What the MEDIA does not tell you about Islam and Muslims

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear author Soraya Deen, (PEACE MATTERS –  33 Ways to Raise a Peace Maker), talk candidly about fear, misunderstanding and the importance of getting to know one another.  With personal stories and insights she will inspire you to understand –

*● That Muslims must not be judged by the extreme practices of a few.
*● The truth about the Shariah, women in Islam, and violence.
*● Is Islam a religion of peace?
*● The best way to interact with others about matters of faith.

Soraya Deen MA is a lawyer, speaker and author of several books. She is the President and Founder of Peacewrks, a Center for Negotiations and Conflict Resolution. The Center focuses on a non-adversarial way of thinking and communicating.  She is the current recipient of the Sam Alster Interfaith Award.
