From Reaction to Creation

ONE SERVICE ONLY at 9:15
Most of us react to the circumstances and situations life presents us, especially during these incendiary times. Today we explore how we could take greater control of our lives and live differently by moving the ‘c’ from reaction to the front of the word. What if we could become more aware of our power to create life, rather than simply react to it? How do we move more consciously from reaction to creation? Join us to learn more about this vital transition in our way of being.

Gifts of our Faith

Services at 9:15 & 11:00
At the end of April, a group from CVUUF attended our UU District Assembly. Join us as they share some of the gifts and inspiration they received from our faith that weekend. We will also be welcoming and celebrating our newest members at this service.

What Does the Future Hold? – Bridging Service

ONE SERVICE ONLY 10AM
Another year has gone by, and it is once again time to wish our graduating high school seniors well as they move on to their next journey as young adults. This is also a time to show gratitude to the kindhearted volunteers who have helped nurture our children and youth. Please join us for a very special single service at 10am, followed by a lively celebration.

Celebrating Our Legacy

Services at 9:15 and 11:00
Today we honor those in our community who have built our congregation, the ‘mothers’ of our Fellowship who have nourished and cared for this congregation for 25 years or more. Join us to hear stories of transformation, of being a long time UU, and spiritual growth during their time at CVUUF. What has inspired their commitment and generosity to this community for so many years? Join us for the special Mother’s Day celebration.

What If…?

Services at 9:15 & 11:00
What if money were used to Heal, Empower, Link and Provide (HELP) rather than control, acquire and divide? What if money were used to connect us rather than separate us? Today we explore renewed definitions of generosity and money, guided less by scarcity thinking and more by love and possibility. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate our community’s interconnectedness, our generosity and our vision for our future.

Restoring Wholeness

Services at 9:15 & 11:00

On this Easter Sunday, we will celebrate our traditional UU Flower Communion. Please bring a flower or two to share with the congregation. This service is a chance for us to find ways to restore our wholeness after times of brokenness, struggle, and pain. Join us for a festive day of music, beauty, and celebration.

Contemplative Service – A Sacred Evening Honoring Good Friday & Passover

1 Service at 8pm

This special contemplative service will offer an opportunity to go within, to mourn losses or be with your pain. This candlelit gathering, incorporating meditation, silence, prayer, and music, will nourish our souls and tend our aching hearts. A uniquely UU tribute to Good Friday and Passover, this service is open to all who wish to share a sacred hour in community.

Looking for Fools

Services at 9:15 & 11:00

This service, based on Lynn Ungar’s poem “Looking for Fools” takes a Lectio Divina approach to discerning spiritual lessons. She invites us to “journey in a cloud of laughter” and keep “incompatible ideas simultaneously aloft” as we search for our wholeness by embracing the fool within all of us. Join us to celebrate the delightful gifts of fun, frivolity and laughter together.

Being Whole, not Perfect

Services at 9:15 & 11:00

What if instead of aiming to achieve perfection we could accept that we are actually perfectly imperfect? Join us to explore how to be whole human beings by embracing our imperfections and struggles. Uncover the rich spiritual lessons and sense of wholeness that come with accepting ourselves and others just the way we are.

Many Spiritual Journeys, One Humanity

Services at 9:15 & 11:00
Recently, Reverend Nica attended the Parliament of World Religions and found that our many different religious journeys had so much in common. Join us to hear stories from diverse spiritual traditions that point us all to our common humanity and the search for a more loving and just world.
