A quote by Albert Einstein says: “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” What could it mean to us as UUs if we believed in the possibility of miracles in our current social justice climate? We are not talking about supernatural intervention, but beloved community in action. And that could change everything!

Ingathering Service and Celebration

Ingathering is the start of the new year at Chalice! Welcome back, everyone. We hope your summer has been a joyful one. The Ingathering service is an intergenerational gathering filled with music and honoring the longtime UU tradition of the water ritual.
Afterward, we will gather at Borchard Park for a potluck picnic to celebrate the wonderful gift that is our community. See you then!

This Day in Unitarian Universalist History..
August 21, 1811 – Henry Bergh was born. He was the son of a wealthy shipbuilder and followed in his father’s business for a while. Although he studied at Columbia College in New York City, he did not graduate. Under the ministry of Henry Whitney Bellows at All Souls Church in New York, Bergh became a Unitarian. On a trip to Russia, he became interested in the treament of animals and often intervened when he saw animals abused on the streets. Following his return to the United States, Bergh persuaded the New York legislature to charter the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). He was elected its president and worked for that cause the rest of his life. ~ This Day in Unitarian Universalist History
