The Mysteries of Memory

French author Marcel Proust said “Remembrance of things past is not necessarily the remembrance of things as they were.” Since our memories hold the stories of our lives, mysteries surround what we do and do not remember. Join us as we look at the precious gift of memory, our fears about losing it, and our hopes for holding onto it as long as possible.

Stories from Lives Well Mom’ed

We all have a mother – but there our similarities end. Our experience of motherhood is dynamic and can run the gamut from warm to reactive. Join us for a reflective service on this observation of Mother’s Day with readings, music, and the sharing of Chalice Mothers’ stories of motherhood.

The Stories We Tell Ourselves

The stories we tell ourselves shape our lives. Whether we repeatedly relive the stories from our past in our minds or actions, or we allow them to determine our future, these stories shape who we are in the present. They determine what we think of ourselves, how we show up, and who we can become. Join us to explore the cultural, personal and ancestral stories we tell ourselves, so we might become more aware of their impact in our lives.

Sacred Ground – Honoring Earth Day

As part of the interfaith climate action week and to celebrate Earth Day, we focus on our sacred ground, the soil that nourishes us, the earth that holds us and the food that comes from our earth. Join us as we learn what we can do as individuals and as a congregation to support the flourishing of our beautiful planet, and protect our future.

Becoming Who You Are Born to Be

As we begin our month exploring the theme of ‘Becoming’, we celebrate a Unitarian Universalist interpretation of the Easter story. Jesus taught us to become who we are born to be, by fearlessly living his values and his message of love. How can we become all we are born to be? Today’s service will be broadcast from our Sanctuary.

The Challenge of Commitment

As we explore the idea of Commitment this month, we see it is a powerful dynamic that can enable us to achieve meaningful and important things. Maybe that’s why it’s not easy. It may demand courage, discipline, a willingness to sacrifice- effort in any number of ways. And, in the deepest sense, it is a spiritual undertaking. Today we consider what it takes to survey the landscape, tap into one’s internal resources and rise to the Challenge of Commitment.

Put it in Writing

Today’s service is inspired by the writing on the walls of our sanctuary. It’s been a whole year since we’ve seen those words in person, but the words are still there, holding our space. What does it mean that we’ve put those words in writing? Does writing down our intentions, values and mission deepen our commitment to them? Join us in exploring the power of the written word.
