The Magic of Camp

Join us for a fun-filled service reminding us of the joys of camp and all the ways that it can renew our spirits, create community, ground us and give us the chance to play. After service we’ll be social, engage in various camp-themed activities and snacks and learn more about our cluster camp at DeBenneville Pines. Bring a camp chair and sack lunch.

What Will You Bring to the Feast?

This humorous folk tale about trickery at a royal feast provides a fresh lens on generosity and cooperation. As we begin this year’s Stewardship Campaign, each of us must answer these questions: Will I contribute the best of myself to this beloved community? Will I share my gifts, adding to our abundance, or will I hold my gifts back for my own use?

Belonging to our Ancestors

Services are at 9:15 and 11:00am

During this time celebrating the religious festivals of All Souls, Dia de los Muertos, Diwali and Samhain, this Sunday we honor our ancestors. You are invited to bring photographs or other mementos of deceased loved ones for our communal altar, so that we may collectively pay tribute to our ancestors. We will explore the sense of belonging to our ancestors, both within this community and within our own lives, and discover how that informs our lives today. Join us for this special service of remembrance.

What Does the Future Hold? – Bridging Service

ONE SERVICE ONLY 10AM
Another year has gone by, and it is once again time to wish our graduating high school seniors well as they move on to their next journey as young adults. This is also a time to show gratitude to the kindhearted volunteers who have helped nurture our children and youth. Please join us for a very special single service at 10am, followed by a lively celebration.

Honoring Our Ancestors

Day of the Dead and All Soul’s Day is a time to honor our ancestors, celebrating them through stories and song. Visiting guest author, Amada Perez, will be sharing stories about her life and ancestry ( www.amadairmaperez.com ). Reverend Nica and Sam Dickerson will lead this intergenerational service. We invite you to bring photos of your relatives and friends who are no longer with us, both from this community and your families to place on our community altar of remembrance. Let us pull from their love and strength so that we may heal what troubles us, and move toward a more joyous future for all generations.

Blessing Our Youth

Every year at this time our High School seniors graduate and go forth into the wider world. This service honors CVUUF’s graduating seniors as they ‘bridge’ into their next phase of life and we pay tribute to our RE program teachers. Join us to bless and celebrate our youth and Religious Education program.
